Back in February, SI's Chris Ballard wrote a story about a post-Wizards era Michael Jordan that received a bit of attention. As the story went, some mutual fund CEO named John Rogers Jr. had beaten Jordan in a game of one-on-one at the legend's high-end "Flight School" camp in Las Vegas. According to Ballard, there were one-handed runners and flip-shots and even Damon Wayans. It was quite the tale. And today, thanks to The Wall Street Journal, we finally have video footage.

This video details the 2008 Celtics Defense against Kobe Bryant in the NBA finals. I show the floating zone defense, hard fouls, hand-checking, dirty physical play and the hords of defenders that Kobe had to go up against.

This is another example of the superior defenses in the modern era of basketball. I repeat, Jordan never faced any team as good as the 2004 Pistons or the 2008 Celtics in his 6 trips to the NBA finals.

Ferrari's Felipe Massa, who started on the pole position, received a setback at the Singapore Grand Prix on Sunday after driving off from a pit stop with a fuel rig still attached to his car.

The hose tore off its mooring, spewing gasoline in the air and lashing a crew member who fell to the ground as the Ferrari drove away, less than 50 minutes into the race.

After realizing the error, Massa stopped further down in the pit with the hose trailing behind him, as stunned crew members rushed to help.

Having lost precious time, Massa rejoined the race in 18th position, wrecking what until then had been a perfect race from the pole. He had been well in front of championship leader Lewis Hamilton, who started second.

The Brazilian was given a drive-through penalty for unsafe release because he almost collided with another car while leaving the pit with the hose.

The mechanic who was brought down by the snaking hose was carried away on a stretcher for a checkup at the on-track medical center.

In other incidents, Renault's Nelson Piquet Jr. crashed against a side protective barrier, while Ruben Barrichello found his Honda stopping suddenly.
Piquet was apparently unhurt, climbing out of his wrecked car before dashing across the track to get out through an opening. Barrichello also found his way out of the track to mingle with spectators and shake their hands.

Formally ending an Olympics that was as much mystery as majesty, the host nation unfolded its arms, threw back its head, and howled.

There were silly flying drummers, a human tambourine composed of thousands of shimmying women, and chugging unicyclists rolling giant glowing circles.

There were guns shooting confetti into the stands, gymnasts bouncing on stilts, and Power Ranger look-alikes soaring up and down on ropes just for the heck of it.

In the closing ceremony Sunday, after two weeks of an Olympics that was run as sternly as the thousands of soldiers who guarded it, the Chinese finally let that guard down.

They allowed athletes to break human barriers and run around the National Stadium screaming and waving what appeared to be bottles of booze.

They allowed David Beckham to kick a soccer ball into a crowd.

And, oh my, they even allowed Jackie Chan to sing.

"Through these Games, the world learned more about China, and China learned more about the world," said Jacques Rogge, International Olympic Committee president, in his closing address.

Those giant booms that filled the National Stadium throughout the night were not only fireworks, but Rogge's sighs of relief.

The New York Times: ''A Cuban tae kwon do athlete and his coach were barred for life after the athlete kicked a referee in the face following his disqualification in his bronze medal match.

The Cuban coach, Leudis González, offered no apology for the actions of the athlete, Ángel Matos, during the men's over-80 kilogram (176 pounds) match.

Matos was winning, 3-2, in the second round, when he fell to the mat after being hit by his opponent, Kazakhstan's Arman Chilmanov. He remained there, awaiting medical attention, when he was disqualified for taking too much injury time. Fighters get one minute, and Matos was disqualified when his time ran out.

Matos angrily questioned the call, pushed a judge, then pushed and kicked the referee, Chakir Chelbat of Sweden. Matos then spat on the floor and was escorted out.

"He was too strict," González said, referring to the decision to disqualify Matos. Afterward, he charged that the match was fixed, accusing the Kazakhs of offering him money.

"This is a strong violation of the spirit of tae kwon do and the Olympic Games," the World Taekwondo Federation said in a release. It added that there would be a lifetime ban of González and Matos in all championships sanctioned by the organization and that all Matos's records at the Beijing Games would be erased.

In his first match, Matos defeated Italy's Leonardo Basile, then beat China's Liu Xiaobo, 2-1, in the quarterfinals. But he lost to the South Korean Cha Dong-min in the semifinals to land in the bronze medal match.

"To me it was obvious he was unable to continue," Chilmanov said. "His toe on his left foot was broken."

Matos won the gold medal in this division at the 2000 Sydney Games, dedicating the victory to his mother, who died on the day of the opening ceremony. At the 2004 Athens Games, he finished 11th.''

England have drawn 2-2 against the Czech Republic in a friendly international at Wembley.

Joe Cole's scrambled goal rescued John Terry's side from defeat after they twice fell behind.

Milan Baros put the visitors in front in the first half, before Wes Brown's leveller.

England looked to be heading for defeat when Marek Jankulovski curled a free-kick beyond David James.

But Cole salvaged a 2-2 draw in the dying second, forcing the ball over the line in a packed six-yard box.

The evening proved eventful on and off the field with news emerging during the game that Brian Barwick, the chief executive of the Football Association, would be leaving his job at the end of the year.

Elsewhere, Wales lost 2-1 against Georgia in a friendly international in Swansea and it was goal-less at Hampden Park between Scotland and Northern Ireland after the Republic of Ireland earlier drew 1-1 with Norway.

In Swansea, the Georgians wore black armbands and linked hands - held aloft - when their anthem was played. Flags were waved from a small group of supporters who had made their way to Swansea for what was understandably an emotional occasion.

Wales took the lead after 16 minutes when Jason Koumas cracked in a vicious 25-yard shot that goalkeeper Giorgi Loria half-stopped, only to allow the ball to bounce out of his grasp and over the line.

But Georgia's desire for victory, given the nature of their war-torn country, was greater than Wales', and they equalised through Levan Kenia and then grabbed an injury-time winner through substitute Beka Gotsiridze.

At Hampden Park, it was clear right from the outset there would be nothing friendly about the international when God Save the Queen was jeered by the home crowd ahead of kick-off.

And George Burley was left still seeking his first win as Scotland coach heading into next month's World Cup qualifiers.

But at least Scotland goalkeeper Allan McGregor had saved his blushes by denying Northern Ireland striker David Healy from the penalty spot.

McGregor had been at fault, bringing down Warren Feeney to concede the spot-kick. The visitors had been reduced to ten men after Ryan McGivern's sending off for two yellow cards.

The home side dominated from then on until the final whistle but to no avail.

Usain Bolt of Jamaica produced a stunning performance to win the men's 100 metres Olympic title on Saturday in a new world record time of 9.69 seconds.

The 21-year-old beat home Richard Thompson of Trinidad and Tobago (9.89secs) while Walter Dix of the United States was third in a time of 9.91 secs.

"I felt the world record earlier on," said Bolt, the first Jamaican to win the title.

"I came here just to win and I did just that. I didn't even know I'd broken the world record until I did my victory lap.

"Now I'm just concentrating on my two races coming up. I came here prepared and I'm going to try and do it the (100 and 200m double)."

Dr Herb Elliott, Jamaican team chief doctor, immediately moved to scotch suggestions that the youngster was doped.

"I don't care about the rumours. He's been tested over and over again," said Elliott.

Bolt's compatriot, and former world record holder, Asafa Powell came fifth as six of the eight finalists finished under 10 seconds, a record for the Olympic final, which also equalled the 1991 world final in Tokyo when six men also dipped under the 10 second barrier.

Powell, who again failed on the big stage, paid handsome tribute to his compatriot who could well go on and add the 200m title later in the Games.

"He is the best ever sprinter and I've said that before," said the 25-year-old.

"He has run 9.69 and got the gold so he is definitely the greatest. It was a spectacular performance and he was definitely the best here. He could have run faster if he had run straight through the line."

Powell admitted he had run out of steam.

"I was feeling good but I didn't feel it in my legs. They died on me."

Bolt, who bettered compatriot Don Quarrie's silver medal from the 1976 Olympics when he ironically finished second to a Trinidadian in Hasely Crawford, was headed by Thompson for the first part of the race but there was no contest once he got into his stride and went clear away from the field.

So commanding was his lead he eased up well before the line and held out his hands in celebration.

Behind him Thompson showed the same impressive form the 23-year-old had displayed during the earlier heats to hold on to second and was left in awe of the winner.

"It feels good to be here, to be part of history," said Thompson.

"It was good to finish behind him (Bolt) because there's no way anyone on earth could have beaten him tonight.

"To finish second to him that is a great accomplishment in itself. Usain is a great athlete. It was jsut a matter of time before he proved himself on this stage."

Dix, also an Olympic debutant, came on strong in the final metres to overhaul Powell, who lost out on fourth place to surprise package Churandy Martina of the Dutch Antilles.

Both Dix and Martina admitted that Bolt was just in another world.

"That was the greatest race ever," beamed 22-year-old Dix, who will take on Bolt again in the 200m.

"I can't be more satisfied with third place. He (Bolt) broke the world record, you can't ask for more."

Martina, who showed championship credentials with fifth and seventh in the 100 and 200m at last year's world championships, said Bolt could take the time down even further.

"Everyone could see what he did, he didn't even push through the line. Its an amazing time," said the 24-year-old.

World champion Tyson Gay, out of action for just over a month after suffering a hamstring injury before the Olympics, exited in the semi-finals earlier on Saturday, when he finished fifth.

While an Olympic medal would be seen by most athletes as the ultimate reward for a lifetime's work, Swedish wrestler Ara Abrahamian was less than pleased with the bronze he won at the Chinese Agricultural University Gym.

Abrahamian threw down his 84kg greco-roman bronze in disgust after his shot at gold was ended by a decision denounced by the Swedish coach as "politics".

Abrahamian took the medal from around his neck during the medal ceremony, stepped from the podium and dropped it in the middle of the mat before storming off.

The Swedish wrestler had to be restrained by team-mates earlier as a row erupted with judges over the decision in a semi-final bout with Andrea Minguzzi of Italy, who went on to the take gold.

Abrhamian, who won silver at the Athens 2004 Games, shouted at the referee, then went over to confront judges, angrily throwing off the restraining arm of a team official.

Swedish fans booed loudly as the judges filed out of the arena. Abrahamian said nothing to waiting reporters but whacked an aluminium barricade with his fist as he left the hall.

"It's all politics," said Swedish coach Leo Myllari.

Myllari did not say if he intended to lodge a formal protest over the decision by referee Jean-Marc Petoud of Switzerland, judge Lee Ronald Mackay of Canada, and mat chairman Guillermo Orestes Molina of Cuba.

Other favourites went out in the semi-finals or earlier. Athens 96kg gold medallist Karam Gaber of Egypt failed to make it to the quarter-finals. Aleksey Mishin of Russia, who took Athens gold in the 84kg class, was beaten by Minguzzi.

Ramaz Nozazde of Georgia, who took silver in Athens, succumbed to Marek Svec of the Czech Republic, still fighting at age 35. Svec then lost to Russia's European champion Aslanbek Kushtov, who caught him with a spectacular fall.

In the heavyweight 120kg class, Armenia's Yuri Patrikeev and Dremiel Byers of the United States, both favoured as finalists, failed to go through.
